Ebook About
For five years, Timothy Dirus has lived on the run, in fear of his family. Kept away from other werewolves by his uncle, Tim knows almost nothing about his own kind except that alpha werewolves only want to control and dominate a scrawny wolf like him. But when Tim finds himself in Wolf's Paw, one of the last surviving refuges from the days when werewolves were hunted by humans, he immediately draws the attention of its sheriff, Nathaniel Neri.Nathaniel is the epitome of alpha wolf: powerful, intimidating, and the most beautiful man Tim has ever seen. Tim should be terrified. But everything Tim feels says that Nathaniel is safe and good and right, if only Tim knew what that meant.Tim isn’t sure what to trust—what he was told by his uncle, or his instincts. He’s not even certain what his instincts are, and feels like a failure of a were in a town like Wolf’s Paw. But Nathaniel is patient and willing to wait while his little wolf figures out not just how to be a wolf, but that he is more than a match for this particular alpha.Being(s) in Love:Magical creatures known as beings emerged from hiding amid the destruction of the First World War. Since then they’ve lived on the margins of the human world as misunderstood objects of fear and desire. Some are beautiful, others fearsome and powerful. Yet for all their magic and strength, they are as vulnerable as anyone when it comes to matters of the heart.

Book Little Wolf (Being(s) in Love Book 4) Review :

This exceptional book in the Beings series is intense - intensely funny, intensely emotional, and intensely erotic. It finds joy, warmth and laughter in simply admitting to the hopeless jumble of our lives while acknowledging how selfishness, fear, pride and frustrated desire can shape us in subterranean ways.Little Wolf is a novel of about a young, part-human were who has been emotionally and physically abused and thus won't allow himself to get close to others - not even his mate. It's told with humor and a remarkably light touch, with shameless honesty and tons of empathy. Every young person experiencing emotional trauma deserves the space, patience, and gentle guidance that our imperfect hero gets in this novel. It's an experience told through the eyes of its young protagonist, Tim. It's so well written we can feel Tim's awkward, colt-like gangliness, his warring emotions, and the way he experiences the world as a tidal wave of undifferentiated impressions that he can't sort out. We can also feel the calm grace of his love interest, Nathaniel, and how Nathaniel struggles to contain his volcanic passion for skittish Tim. It's not just the main characters, either; the secondary characters are just as compelling (I adore young Albert and the cantankerous Carl!).Timothy Littlewolf, a 20 year old were with human ancestry, is literally a little wolf, or would be if he ever allowed himself to shift. He's smaller than even average weres. Small or not, he's a hurricane of fraught emotion, all pointy edged sarcasm and a mouth that won't shut up when it'd be good for him. Why? Mostly because he's been on the run from his family, who refused to teach him anything about being a were and kept him locked away. It was his uncle's hired thug, Luca, who abused Tim as much as watched over him. As a result, Tim is a knot of emotional contradictions, conflicting values, and fear, and the only answer he's found is to run from anyone who wants to get close. It's no wonder, then, that Tim doesn't know that the overwhelming feeling he has after arriving in Wolf's Paw and seeing its huge alpha, Nathaniel, isn't fear, but his body's natural response to his mate. At the sight of 30 year old Nathaniel Neri, the muscular sheriff of Wolf's Paw, Tim doesn't ask for his number or kiss him on the spot, but instead he rejects Nathaniel. He doesn't know anything other than to run from this beautiful alpha wolf, because all his experiences with alphas have lead to shame and pain. But, with weres, when one mate rejects the other, both suffer physically and emotionally. Nathaniel is torn on the inside and unable to sleep from the rejection. So, slowly, he starts wooing Tim, but Tim doesn't understand what Nathaniel is doing. Meanwhile, Tim's ancient, brutal, and powerful family - and their hired hand, Tim's abuser - are close to discovering Tim's whereabouts, a fact that finally drives Tim into Nathaniel's arms. But Luca is nearby, which means Tim's Machiavellian uncle is, too.I got swept away by this book. The characterization is exceptional. The secondary characters and their lives are as poignant as those of the main characters; I cried for a revelation made about cranky old Carl, who befriends Tim in the cafe where he works. Tim is a complex but compelling character, as is Nathaniel, in completely different ways. When they make love it's not just hot, it's mind blowing. Like in life, the way one makes love reveals one's inner nature, and despite Tim taking on the uke, or bottom, role, he's still as much an alpha male as Nathaniel. R. Copper surpassed herself on this one. I really feel like I know these characters, and I'm totally in love with this series.
Frustrating and intriguing read - like all the books in this series. R Cooper desperately needs a good, and ruthless, editor. Her books get very repetitive and the angst goes on and on and ON, generally depending on a single misunderstanding or miscommunication that could so easily be clarified, but isn't, drawing out the mutual pining in a way that's hard to believe. But her characters and her world building are excellent. Tim's voice is so strong and funny and well-done that it kept me willing to read on despite being annoyed with the ridiculous and unrealistic poor communication that keeps Tim from understanding what kind of relationship he's in. I'd have preferred more of the plot - what there is of it, and there's not much - because Tim's relationship to his family, his uncle, and his former abuser is interesting and had a lot of potential for development that it didn't get, treated as it is as a final denouement.Basically, this ought to have been half the length it is, and then it would have been fantastic. As it is, I enjoyed it, but sighed a lot while reading it, and not in a good way.
