Wow! I am beyond floored by this book and it was everything I could have thought! Honestly, Max has done Enzo and Zane's story justice, 100%! As cliche as it sounds, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The whole series has been incredible and as much as I do not want to see it end, he did it beautifully! I cannot wait to read what else he comes up with for Stonewall Investigations. Hands down. That was one hell of a hard fought battle. It was intense, emotional, funny, sexy (like, really really sexy) and literally made me want to fight for them. They did it! They got their incredible 'beginning'. I say that instead of ending, because of what they went through, what they all went through. The poor souls that were lost got their justice and it was a proud moment, even if a bit bittersweet. I do however want to say that the only 'ending' that would make sense and be most appropriate, was the Unicorns well earned demise. You will have to read it to see what kind of demise it was! Seriously, click the buy button already. The whole series. Go!Throughout this book I had my own suspicions on who the Unicorn was and it started with the last book, as I continued reading, I was convinced I was wrong. I kept going over in my head all the clues and maybe that is part of my schooling (working towards a Paralegal degree), but I was just as frustrated as Zane and Enzo were! I went back and forth with who the suspect was but deep down, this one particular person kept popping up. Certain events and places, the clues kept sticking out and when it was finally revealed, I cheered. Not in a morbid way, but because after a hard fought battle of pain and terror for the victims, I knew that the deranged and soulless psycho was finally getting what they deserved! Max definitely brought the story to life. For me at least, as I'm sure his other readers too!Max rocked this. You will NOT be disappointed. There is so much more I want to say, but honestly...go and read "A Lover's Game"!! Being here from the start of the series with both guys, I was happy it ended with Zane and Enzo and what they wanted the whole time, not just for themselves, but for all those around them.....a life full of love and adventure......Happy reading! This fourth installment of the Stonewall series was absolute perfection.I have waited for the conclusion of the Unicorn saga and boy did this book NOT disappoint. I feel in love with Zane and Enzo in book 1 and this story just made me want to keep them in my life. These two men are a joy to read about, as well as the other characters within Stonewall Investigations. This story is clever and I truly believe one of the best books Max Walker has written.The storyline of this book kept me at the edge of my seat the whole book. I will not include spoilers but wow, what an ending. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into this book and can I just say that it is appreciated. If you love intrigue, hot steamy times and watching two people who love each other so deeply struggle like the rest of us, this book is for you. I highly recommend, however, reading the first 3 books to enhance the experience.I love the writing style of Max Walker and he is an immediate 1-click for me. He writes intelligent stories that keep you engaged and does not necessarily drip with artificial sweetener. I love books that make we want to start at the beginning again once I'm finished, and books by Max Walker always provides just as much enjoyment during a re-read as the first time. This series is in my top 10 M/M series of all time...….yes, they are that good. Hope you enjoy!
