Ebook About Three New York Times bestselling authors unite their talents in this riveting novel of family secrets, obsession, and murder. As fear and distrust spread through Prairie Creek, soon all the Dillingers, and those closest to them, are targets—and suspects. A killer has been honing his skill, feeding his fury, and waiting for the moment when the Dillingers come home—to die . . .In Blood Ira Dillinger, the family’s wealthy patriarch, has summoned his children home for his upcoming wedding. Eldest son, Colton, and his siblings don’t approve of their father’s gold-digging bride-to-be. But someone is making his displeasure felt in terrifying ways, setting fires just like in the past. Only this time, there will be no survivors. Will Be Rewarded Twenty years ago, a fire ravaged the Dillinger family’s old homestead, killing Judd Dillinger and crippling his girlfriend. Most people blamed a serial arsonist who’d been seen around town. But strange things are happening in Prairie Creek, Wyoming, again. A Killer’s Patience“This collaborative novel has all the tension and suspense that Jackson fans expect. The web of family ties and secrets creates a strong plot. Readers who enjoy shows like Criminal Minds will find the serial killer satisfyingly scary.”—RT Book Reviews “Sinister reads as if penned by a single author, so kudos to each of thecollaborators.”—Mystery SceneBook Sinister (The Wyoming Series Book 1) Review :
For 2 decades this family has been fixated on teenage love affairs. Incapable of emotionally moving forward, caught in an unrealistic memory of perfect love. Now the clan is gathered together for their 60 something father's marriage to a woman half his age - a woman who went to school with his daughters and is the mother of his own 11 year old grandson. Add some rather nasty murders, arson, an extended family, a feud with a neighboring family ... The possibilities are limitless. All three of the authors have provided me with hours of entertainment, so I hold them to high standards. They did a reasonable job of combining the story line into the romances. The mystery / mysteries were well developed. But I keep dwelling on the characters dwelling on their past loves. REALLY? One character had married and had a child, both the spouse and child were easily dismissed. Another believed their long lost partner had cheated with a ex and possibly was an arsonist, but they were groping each other within minutes of meeting after almost two decades. Some of the side characters were interesting. A teen girl, half wild, possibly autistic, who knows more about animals than the local vet, and lives in the wild. A 14 year old who hates everyone except a glamorous aunt who lives in California.I enjoyed the book, but am not impressed. In fact, I'm disappointed. If I wasn't accustomed to better from these writers I might not have been so judgmental. I don't know why three people wrote this book, seemingly independently instead of consulting with each other. The first section is well written and sets a solid foundation as a crime novel. The second does a decent job of developing the characters further, but moved a little slower. By the third it was like being thrown into the middle of a romance novel where the writer was trying to meet a length commitment instead of writing to tell the story. Very repetitive. Lots of extraneous story additions that didn't really stick to the initial plot. I got about 40 pages from the end and basically didn't even want to finish it. That's happened to me only twice before in my entire life and I read about 20 books per year.
